The brutal murder of 29-year-old Mahalakshmi in Bengaluru has horrified the city, drawing comparisons to the infamous Shraddha Walkar case in Delhi. Mahalakshmi’s dismembered body, cut into over 30 pieces, was found in a refrigerator at her home in Vyalikaval by her mother and sister. Police identified Mukthirajan Pratap Roy as the main suspect.
While police were tracking him in Odisha, Roy died by suicide. Karnataka home minister G Parameshwara stated that law enforcement had been working hard to catch Roy, who fled across different locations. The case has shaken the entire city, prompting serious discussions about women’s safety.
